Role Purpose

The Back Office & Operations Executive will play a combined role covering operational processing, back‑office support, and control functions essential to the smooth, compliant, and efficient running of the Company. The role requires all daily operational activities are executed accurately, timely, and in line with regulatory, internal policy, and risk management requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Back Office Operations

• Process and maintain accurate records for client onboarding, account opening, amendments, and closures in accordance with KYC, AML/CFT, and sanctions requirements.
• Ensure accurate posting of transactions in our systems.
• Maintain client documentation, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and proper filing (physical and electronic).
• Support periodic client reviews, remediation exercises, and data validation initiatives.

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, suspense accounts, and internal ledgers.
• Investigate and resolve operational breaks, discrepancies, and exceptions in a timely manner.
• Monitor operational queues and ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
• Assist in preparing operational reports and dashboards for management review.

• Support compliance with FSC Mauritius regulations, AML/CFT framework, and internal policies and procedures.
• Assist with regulatory reporting, audits, inspections, and information requests.
• Ensure operational processes are documented and updated in line with regulatory changes.
• Escalate operational, compliance, or risk issues to management promptly.

• Adhere to segregation of duties, maker‑checker controls, and approval frameworks.
• Identify process inefficiencies, operational risks, and control gaps, and propose improvements.
• Support implementation of new operational procedures, systems, or controls.

• Act as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders including Front Office, Compliance, Risk, Finance, and IT.
• Liaise with external service providers, banks, and vendors on operational matters.
• Provide operational support and guidance to junior staff where applicable.

• Use core systems and operational platforms accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and operational manuals.
• Ensure proper record‑keeping and audit trails are maintained at all times.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Banking, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
• Professional certifications in banking, operations, AML, or compliance will be considered an advantage.

• 2–5 years of experience in back office, banking operations, or financial services operations.
• Experience within a regulated banking or financial institution environment is essential.
• Familiarity with FSC Mauritius regulatory requirements is highly desirable.
